Lisa Faye Broadhead –  LRAM / ALCM /  member of the Association of Singing Teachers and the British Voice Association

Lisa Faye teaches singing, piano and music theory privately on a one to one basis in Winchester, Hampshire through her school 5678 Music Education which was established in 2000, although Lisa has been teaching for 15 years after graduating from Royal Academy of Music.

Since 1998 Lisa has taught over 500 students and is still counting!!! Over 50% of her students have achieved Distinctions in their singing exams with LCM, (London College of Music) with a 100% pass rate in both singing, piano and music theory overall.

Some of her students seeking to further their career in the Arts have gone on to successfully audition and attend schools specialising in the arts including: Arts Educational Tring, Bird College, London College of Music, Winchester University, The Arden School of Theatre and Cygnet Training Theatre.

The emphasis is on ‘making learning fun’, where students enjoy the process of improving their singing voice, piano skills and musicianship in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Lisa’s qualifications include a Licentiate as a Vocal Teacher and a Diploma for which she achieved Honours, specialising in Music Theatre with The London College of Music. Lisa Faye continues to study both singing and piano by regularly attending masterclasses and conferences to ensure that she is up to date and in the moment!

‘Thank you for all the confidence you have given as well as lots of fun!’ – Parent

Lisa Faye specialises in Music Theatre, Pop and Jazz but will also help students with other styles of music too. She will help students find and improve their voices, gain confidence, expand their repertoire and improve their audition / performance skills. All levels are welcome from complete beginners, those just wanting to sing for fun or professionals wanting to refine their repertoire. Lessons will help with sight reading music, breathing, tone, confidence, etc

In February 2013 The 5678 Choir was created giving adults the opportunity to meet and sing together on a regular basis, working on harmonies and having fun!

Twice a year her students are encouraged to participate in a concert so they can demonstrate their new skills and also build their confidence and performance skills. During school holidays workshops are held on a variety of different themes giving the opportunity to sing with others, work on harmonies, group singing and confidence.

Students have the option of entering for singing exams in Music Theatre and Popular Music with the The London College of Music through Thames Valley University. To date Lisa Faye has had 100% pass rate with one student achieving the highest mark in 2004. The exams are fun and help explore different eras and styles of music. Exams are open to all ages, children or adults and are a great way of providing a goal for your singing and a sense of achievement when you pass with flying colours! Also LCM Singing examinations Grade 6, 7, 8 earn you UCAS points too for those going onto University! We can also work towards Diplomas in performing and Teaching.

‘A huge thank you for all your years of help…you are inspirational’

Having played the piano since the age of 8 and almost gave up at 14 Lisa knows the importance of encouragement and making learning fun when it comes to the piano! Thanks to great teachers she kept going and lots of encouragement from her parents…now she is so grateful she never gave it up and today loves passing on her knowledge and expertise in a fun, friendly way, encouraging both interest and talent. Her students include both children and adults, from beginners to those wanting to refresh rusty technique. Lisa Faye submits students for exams in both piano and Music Theory through The Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and to date has had a 100% pass rate. Also worth remembering is UCAS points can be earned for examinations taken through ABRSM for Grade’s 6,7 and 8!

‘…you have made it really enjoyable to play’

The philosophy of 5678 Music Education is to foster an open culture where I establish and maintain a safe environment that children feel secure and in and they can exercise their own feelings, develop and are encouraged and listened to.
