Lisa Faye’s Biography
Christmas 2012 - her co produced Pantomime for ACT TOO – ‘Dick Whittington’ sold out once again and raised £2500 for local charities including Naomi House Children’s Hospice. To date Act Too have raised over £7000 in 3 years for charities. Taking a break in 2013 they will be back with a self penned Pantomime in 2014!
May 2012 and ‘Streisand – The Main Event’ is performed on the high seas onboard Fred Olsen cruise ships, as Lisa Faye returns to a life at sea to share her show about Barbra Streisand and songs made famous by other Diva’s with cruise ship passengers.
December 2011 – ‘Cinderella’ the village pantomime sold out once again with Lisa Faye at the helm as Musical Director and Co Producer raising over £2000 for local charities.
October 2011 – February 2012, during this time Lisa Faye toured her show, ‘Streisand – The Main Event’ around theatres in the UK following it’s success on London’s West End in February 2011 when Lisa Faye made her solo debut in London’s West End with her own show, ‘Streisand – The Main Event‘ at Trafalgar Studios, Whitehall, London. The show was on for 3 consecutive Saturdays at the start of this year and has led to the show going on tour later in 2011!
Christmas 2010 was exceptionally busy for Lisa Faye as not only was she performing at various Christmas events but she also co produced and was musical director and choreographer in her very first pantomime ‘Aladdin’. The pantomime was a sell out, with over 500 people seeing the show over 5 performances raising over £2700 for two charities, ‘The Victoria Hall Fund’ and ‘Hope & Homes for Children’. Lisa Faye worked alongside Eryl Maynard to create this much celebrated piece of community theatre and is now a founder member of ‘ACT TOO’, a community theatre group in Sutton Scotney, Winchester, who hope to go on and produce more work in 2011! Oh Yes They Do!!
In August 2010 Lisa Faye performed her show, ‘Streisand – The Concert’ to sell out audiences at the worlds largest arts festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and return with a 5* review. The show began in 2009 when she also produced and performed other new shows, ‘Diva’s – The Concert’ and ‘Musical – The Concert’.
Back in 2005 she performed in her own creation ‘Dinner With A Diva’ at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival to sell out audiences and continues to perform the show today. Her love of creating shows stems from Lisa Faye performing on cruise ships, and on her return back to dry land she set up her own company, ‘5678 Music Entertainment Group’ providing 1st class entertainment.
In 2001 she became the first vocalist to sing live on Radio 5 Live alongside the radio football commentator, John Motson, then in 2002 she performed to over 70,000 people alongside Jim Davidson during his 25th Anniversary Tour of the UK.
From her early beginnings performing around the Northern Club Circuit fronting several bands Lisa Faye has packed a lot into her short career so far. Her story sounds all so familiar with that of fellow Yorkshire singer Jane McDonald with whom Lisa Faye teamed up back in 1997 to record an uptempo version of the famous Chess hit, ´I Know Him So Well´ which went on to give Lisa and Jane their first No1 hit in America!
With a wealth of performing experience she began training with local dance and drama groups back home in Rotherham, South Yorkshire before heading for London to attend the famous, “BRIT School” and then onto The Royal Academy of Music, in London, studying Music Theatre with Mary Hammond.
Lisa’s singing has led her to work with, Mike Batt, The Barron Knights, The Commitments , Tony Hadley, Charlotte Church, West End International & Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also worked for the world renowned record companies, “Music Factory”, the Jive Bunny Creators, appearing in videos, on “Top of the Pops”, and as a session singer for ‘Going For A Song’.
When not performing Lisa Faye manages a very successful and rewarding teaching business sharing her knowledge of voice and piano with budding “stars of tomorrow”.
As a songwriter Lisa Faye has had her original songs produced and promoted by the BPI’s CD representation of British Music at Popkomm ‘05 and she continues to write and record today.
